Joe can't go to Meg's world. That's why Joe is going to go to Mina's world. Or that's why Joe was going to go to Mina's world.

"Shit," says Roland, low. Not that it matters -- nobody's around to hear him. He's pacing his room with his hands behind his back, thinking.
All he knows is that he can't change things.
It's April 15.
Tomorrow morning, he'll open the packet that came with the letter at the bank in Paris.
Tomorrow morning, he'll knock on Joe's door. He doesn't really expect to see the bounty hunter there. So if it's goodbyes, then -- not that Joe would know -- they need to be said tonight. And Joe has been a friend. A good friend.
Time to go downstairs.
