Dec. 5th, 2004 03:45 amRoland, in his room, is still plugging away at Green Eggs and Ham...or at least that's what it would look like to the observer. In reality, Roland is seeing bats coalesce into a woman-shape. Over, and over, and over.
And then there was the man with red eyes and fangs.
And then there was Joe...defending the bat-thing-woman.
And Meg.
And Anthy, standing there. Just standing there. With...purple hair.
He pulls himself out of his thoughts, and running a finger under the text, reads out loud, "I do not like them, Sam-I-am."
Concentrate, gunslinger.

Date: 2004-12-05 01:08 am (UTC)"I know two people here who hunt vampires--vampires of your kind." Joe chuckles darkly. "One is Mina's sworn brother."
He hesitates. It is a hesitation in which he doesn't like himself for what he is thinking. He lets it hang.

Date: 2004-12-05 01:45 am (UTC)"But if she went bad..." Joe scowls and looks at the floor.
"Most vampires in her world go bad, an' fast. Her best friend went to feedin' on kids in no time flat when she was taken. She's *different.* Mebbe 'cause people killed the one that made her. Mebbe she's just strong."
He looks up and faces the gunslinger, eyes shining. "If I had to, could I do it? Is that what you're askin' me?"

Date: 2004-12-05 02:02 am (UTC)Time to be honest. "If I get unbound, I'm leaving, gunslinger. She can't follow me. This is for Milliways, not forever." He glares at the ground while he says it.
He's not proud of himself. It's just who he is.
